Experimental in process, natural in aesthetic
Lauren Haynes built Debrasic by hand from reclaimed materials and now crafts custom jewellery from her workbench at the back of the shop. She curates Debrasic’s collection of jewellery and clothing with a clear contemporary aesthetic and a belief in the power of independent artists.
Lauren completed a three-year diploma in Jewellery Technology and Design at Hungry Creek Art School in Puhoi in 2006. In 2007, she continued her education in the "Fly Now" international workshop held by the esteemed Ruudt Peters in Ravenstien Holland. In addition to shows in Holland and Belgium, Lauren’s work has been exhibited at galleries across New Zealand. Today, she concentrates on creating custom jewellery for Debrasic clients and one-off pieces for sale in the shop.
